Sivan Arul Boys’ and Girls’ Homes continue to serve as a place of refuge for children who have faced deeply traumatic and challenging circumstances. Many of these children are referred through the courts, often arriving without a stable family environment or access to consistent care.
Today, the Children Development Centre provides a safe and nurturing home for 79 boys and 86 girls, including children residing in hostels. Beyond basic shelter, the homes focus on restoring dignity, emotional wellbeing, and a sense of belonging.
Education remains a core priority. Many children are currently preparing for GCE O/L and A/L examinations, and Sivan Arul provides in-house private tuition to ensure continuity, close supervision, and academic encouragement. This academic support is complemented by professional counselling services, with separate counsellors attending to both the boys’ and girls’ homes. These services play a critical role in emotional healing and positive behavioural development.
In recognition of its commitment to child welfare and quality standards, Sivan Arul Children’s Homes have once again been recognised by the Child Development Board as one of the best children’s homes in the Northern Region. This honour reflects the tireless dedication of staff, volunteers, and supporters who work daily to protect and uplift vulnerable children.
Through sustained care, education, and emotional support, Sivan Arul continues to walk alongside every child, helping them heal, rebuild confidence, and move toward a stable and hopeful future.
