At Sivan Arul Foundation, we believe that empowering women is one of the most impactful ways to uplift entire communities. Many of the women we support are single mothers, widows, or individuals facing financial hardships. Through our skill development programs and revolving fund initiatives, they are gaining the tools to build independent and sustainable livelihoods.
Creating Opportunities for a Better Future
For many women, financial stability was once out of reach. Limited opportunities and a lack of resources made it difficult to provide for their families. But through our initiatives, hundreds of women have been trained in various skills, from traditional crafts to modern vocational trades. With the help of revolving funds, they have been able to start businesses, expand their income sources, and regain their independence.
One such example is Bhavani, a war widow raising three children. With support from Sivan Arul, she established a home boutique business that has allowed her to provide for her family. Today, her daughter is thriving at university, a dream that once seemed impossible.
Revolving Funds Changing Lives
Our revolving fund projects are a lifeline for women seeking financial independence. In Thangavelayuthapuram, 14 families each received ₹1 lakh, funded by Kumaran and Tharmini from Sydney. This fund has now revolved seven times, benefiting over 100 individuals, most of them single women striving for a better future. These funds help them start small businesses, invest in livestock, or develop their agricultural skills, creating a ripple effect of economic empowerment.
More Than Just Skills
Beyond financial stability, our programs also focus on personal growth and confidence-building. Women not only learn practical skills but also gain the knowledge to manage their businesses, market their products, and become self-reliant.
